The Original Divas of SW Florida
How it All Begun....

Almost 8 years ago... Isabel Albuerne, "The Event Lady"
made her home in SW Florida.
She relocated to this beautiful Paradise Coast,
and continued doing what she knew best;
The planning of special events, quince parties and wedding receptions.

Along the way she met two other business ladies:
Silvia Izquierdo the founder of Nuevos Ecos Hispanic Newspaper
and the present Editor of an informative Hispanic local Blog at:
SilviaIzquierdoSWFlorida.com

and Veronica Montoya, who at that time helped develop the
first Hispanic Yellow Pages of the area, she is a Latina advertising sales specialist;
who now is Veronica Duzenli, Director of Sales for the SW Florida Hispanic Chamber

Along with her new found friends, this South Florida
special event planner from Miami,
got to know these SW Florida
communities much better
, and met many members of the
Hispanic radio, print and television media
of the Naples and Fort Myers area.
She was hooked... the social and free-lance
writing scene was for her!

They started to call each other Divas... Just for Fun!
After all... the word Diva has many connotations, but in this website....

"You are a definitely a Diva if you are a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a grandma, a friend,
a working woman, an entrepreneur, a housewife, a stay at home mom, or wear any or all of these hats on a daily basis...then honey believe it; you are a Diva of SW Florida."

As time passed, The Event Lady
was busy building her web site, and editing and publishing
the first bilingual, Hispanic owned, print
wedding and quince magazine publication of this SW Florida coast.
It remained in print for two years.

Today, "The Event Lady" continues to publish a paperless, totally Green publication
as a BLOG and a Main QuinceaƱera and Bridal Resource Directory
which can be seen at Florida Weddings and Special Events.com

One of her latest and most exciting projects is Miss Florida Quince,
a QuinceaƱera Pageant and Expo event formed in partnership by
The Event Lady with another local Diva, Natalia Harding Editor of Somos Magazine.

The Event Lady, and The Divas of SW Florida
,
have developed a true bilingual media
group covering many of the great community
and social special events and fundraisers
happening all around our great counties of
Lee and Collier.

But Alas, the Divas have grown in numbers in these
diverse communities of the Naples, Marco Island,
Fort Myers, Estero, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres,
Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte cities.
We are no longer are just 3 Divas, we are now many, even a couple of Honorary Divos!

So now... as Divas of SW Florida; Let's Unite!

Together, women of all nationalities, cultures, and walks of life;
who are smart, fun, and creative share and bring news
of the BEST that our South Florida cities have to offer in
English and Spanish for all to enjoy.

So all that being said...

Look for our Divas of SW Florida's Group and Fan Page on Facebook,
and Check back on this site for updates and news!

Chao Everyone...
